Claire graduated from the Masters of Speech Pathology at Griffith University in 2013. Time flies when you're having fun!
With undergraduate qualifications in Languages (Spanish, French) and Linguistics, a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) and Master of Speech Pathology, Claire is a true nerd at heart! You will often find her deep diving into research to answer a clinical question or undertaking Professional Development to build her skills and inform her approach.
Claire has practiced in acute hospital wards and inpatient mental health units, community programs and private settings, supporting people to communicate and eat and drink in a way that feels right for them.
Claire's work history includes: teaching English as a Second Language to refugee and migrant students in schools and universities, working in research teams and implementing state-wide programs in schools and hospitals.
Claire is a fun, passionate and caring person who connects well with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Her down-to-earth personality and clinical skill make her a reliable clinician. She has a lot of experience managing complexity and working with children, families and other health professionals to achieve the best outcomes for her clients. No mountain too high, no river too wide! Claire is a dedicated professional with the skills, experience and knowledge to support people with complex needs.
Claire applies positive, affirming and respectful approaches in her practice. She embraces individuality and diversity. As a Mum of two, Claire fully appreciates the challenges and joys of raising children and brings experience and an open mind to every part of her job. Claire listens closely to her clients' needs and tailors approaches that align with their values and priorities.
Claire has a special interest in supporting people who identify as neurodivergent and has a deep interest in diversity and individualised, identity affirming supports.
Claire is an ADHD'er and brings trauma informed approaches to supporting all clients. Claire has undertaken a lot of training in mental health and trauma informed practice.
Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts (Languages and Linguistics), Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary), and Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
Claire is a passionate life-long learner. She is currently focused on her clinical special interests including Neurodiversity Affirming support for Autistic people / ADHD'ers and everyone identifying as neurodivergent. Claire is also experienced in supporting people with dysphagia (swallowing problems) and loves to help people with this.

When she is not busy working, Claire is probably having fun in nature with her kids, cooking up a storm or throwing pots on the wheel. You will often catch her on a day off with clay in her hair and on her clothes - the pottery studio is her happy place!
